Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty With Voluma Fillers. Before and After Pictures Inside. Video too!
Procedure specific satisfaction rating
All over social media we see all the different, interesting, innovative procedures that trend. I was absolutely fascinated with a liquid nose jobs, also known as a non-surgical rhinoplasty, I had been seeing all over Instagram. I couldn't believe within a one minute video someone was able to alter the appearance of their nose just by using filler. This absolutely had my attention and I was so intrigued. I wanted to get it done as soon as possible! I've always opted out of getting a traditional rhinoplasty because it seems so brutal. I honestly had a fear of nose jobs! Yet here I was absolutely wanting one but my fear just overwhelmed me. I wanted a better side profile and I knew the bump, known as a dorsal hump, on my nose had to go. Seeing patients with similar noses to me have amazing improvements of their nose after having a little injectable filler placed in it, made me want to sign up to have the procedure done! It sure beat having a surgical rhinoplasty and being left with a year of bruising and swelling!
Now the real work came in finding the perfect cosmetic surgeon to do this for me. I had a good friend of mine who recommended a doctor out in Pasadena, California. I've always loved the way my friend's skin looked. It was so radiant and she attributed this to Dr. Reyes, who she went to for different cosmetic treatments on her face. Seeing my friend's results made me feel comfortable going to see Dr. Rachel Reyes.
In January, I made the trip out to Pasadena, California to visit Dr. Reyes for a consultation and treatment. I live in Northern California but I felt like Dr. Reyes was absolutely worth the drive because I really did love her work.
I arrived at Contempo Aesthetics extremely nervous and antsy. Dr. Reyes is located in a cute part of Pasadena, in a very professional and beautiful office. Right away, I felt at ease and at home with her medical staff who was so attentive. Once I got in the examination room, I told Dr. Reyes the fears I had with a traditional rhinoplasty procedure and how I only wanted an improved side profile, not a radically different nose. Dr. Reyes listened to me and understood where I was coming from. She explained the procedure to me, and told me that I unlike a surgical procedure, there would be virtually no downtime with my liquid nose job. She then told me she was going to put some numbing cream on my nose before starting the injections. Having her explain exactly what she was about to do made me feel much more relaxed. I was a total scaredy-cat throughout the whole process, and Dr. Reyes really calmed me down. Shortly after the numbing cream was placed on my nose, it was time to begin the injection. Dr. Reyes began doing precise injections on different parts of my nose and before I knew it, the whole procedure was finished. The entire treatment from start to finish took no more than 10 to 15 minutes. I also did not feel any pain at all during the procedure. Once it was over, Dr. Reyes handed me a mirror to look at my new nose and I was so elated that my bump had disappeared. I could not believe my side profile finally looked the way I've always wanted it. My mind was absolutely blown. I couldn't thank Dr. Reyes enough! I was so pleased with my results! And I was even more pleased with the fact that I didn't bruise and my swelling was very minimal, practically none at all. I literally couldn't stop staring at my nose for over two weeks after my procedure.
I hands-down recommend this to someone who is considering getting a nose job and just isn't sure if they want to have a traditional surgical rhinoplasty and the recovery that comes along with it. I absolutely feel so much more confident and I'm not always constantly worrying about the bump on my nose anymore! It's literally like a weight has been taken off my shoulders, which sounds silly to say, but if you have insecurities about your nose you know what I mean. Like I said, Dr. Rachel was worth the drive. I literally drove over five hours to go see her. She is officially the only person who can put a needle in my face. Amazing results!
I should also add that this procedure is great for anyone that's considering surgically altering their nose, but wants to try on a new nose first. A non-surgical rhinoplasty is done with temporary fillers, so if you don't like your the way your new nose looks, it'll return to it's original shape over time. The procedure is also done with very safe hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, which is a naturally made substance in your body, so you don't have to worry about your body rejecting it. For my nose, Voluma filler was used. These fillers can be broken down by natural enzymes in your body, which is why they're considered temporary fillers, not permanent.
If you're considering a rhinoplasty, I highly recommend scheduling an initial consultation with a cosmetic doctor who does surgical procedures and one who doesn't. They'll be able to tell you if you're an ideal candidate for a procedure like this. Of course a surgeon is going to sell you a surgical procedure and vice-versa, so do your research and make the decision that's best for you. Don't let any doctor pressure you into something you don't want. It's your nose! Do what you want with it.
