Restylane Silk Was Perfect For My Lips
I've wanted to get a lip enhancement procedure for about a year now. I felt my lips were a little too thin for my face. I wanted them to look a little plumper, but not unnatural. I had been hearing a lot of good things about Restylane Silk, a new hyaluronic acid filler that was supposed to be very soft and smooth and especially great for your lips. I think it was only FDA approved 2 or 3 years ago, so it's a relatively new filler.
During my lip injections, my plastic surgeon injected me 6 times. 2 injections in my top lip, 2 injections in my bottom lip and 2 injections in the corners of my mouth. A total of 1/2 vial of Restylane Silk was injected into my lips. This may not seem like a lot, but I was adamant about looking natural. I didn't wany really puffy looking lips.
I had barely any discomfort during my injections. Restylane Silk has lidocaine inside of it, so you don't need to deal with having separate injections to numb your lips. I've had other dermal fillers injected into my face and I thought this Silk injections were the least painful, especially since I find the lip area to be the most sensitive to pain.
My lips were a tad bit swollen after they were injected. Swelling and bruising are common side effects whenever you receive injections though, so I wasn't surprised that my lips were swollen.
I am a big advocate of Restylane Silk. My lips look perfect to me now and I'm so happy with the way things turned out.
