Review of My Voluma Filler Injections, What it Cost, Before and After Photos of My Treatment
Procedure specific satisfaction rating
Hi, I'm Melanie and I had Voluma dermal injections for an Instant Lift. I used to consider myself somewhat of a hottie back in my 20s and 30s. But now at 43, I don’t feel so hot anymore when I look in the mirror. Things are starting to sag everywhere, including my face! I don’t have that youthful looking skin I once had!
I am vain and want to maintain a youthful look without going under the knife. I read about Voluma and thought this might be just what I needed to give my face and my self-esteem a little lift. Voluma is a relatively new dermal filler, so I figured I would give it a try.
I found this med spa on Groupon called Advantage Beauty and Health in Scottsdale, AZ. They offered some amazing deals on Botox and fillers – which is what initially got me in the door.
My first visit was for the Botox special they were advertising, and at that time, I had my work done by Susan – a very talented injector. She did such a beautiful job, I decided to go back there to try Voluma as well.
Susan is very experienced and doesn’t try to upsell you on anything, like I have found to be the case with a lot of Med Spas I have gone to. She tells you what you need, what you can expect, and even how to get the most value for your money.
The first thing she did was put a numbing lotion on my face which had to sit there for about 10-15 mins.
Next, she started injecting my cheeks in the center of my face, below the eyes. I knew she was going to be putting filler in my cheeks, but for some reason I just assumed it would be over my cheekbones. However, since I’m going for a general lift, it does make sense to put the Voluma there.
Then she moved on to the cheekbone area and put more filler there as well.
My face was numb from the numbing cream so it wasn’t painful. But wherever she put in the needle, I could feel a little “pop” in my skin. It was almost making what I would call “crunching” sounds. It was freaky.
After the injections, she had me sit up to see how the product was settling in my cheeks and if she needed to add more to a particular section.
When the lidocaine wore off, I was swollen and pretty sore. It felt like I was punched in the face. Susan gave me a small jar of arnica gel and arnica tablets that you put under your tongue to help with any bruising.
The first night was a little rough. I couldn’t sleep on one side of my face because it was hurting pretty bad. The soreness lasted for about 3 days but fortunately I didn’t suffer from any bruising.
My face looked fuller and lifted. And those cheekbones were major! But after a few weeks, the product started to settle and the effects looked more natural. I absolutely love it!
Voluma is definitely my favorite facial filler. And 6 weeks later, I’m still rocking some killer cheekbones.
Advantage Beauty and Health is currently offering Voluma at $699 for 1 syringe. But if you group it with other procedures, you can get some really smoking deals. Advantage Beauty and Health is located at 7506 E. Monterey Way, Scottsdale AZ, 85251.
I’ve attached a video of my experience getting Voluma. Enjoy!
