Rhinoplasty Surgery With Dr. Peyman Solieman and Dr. Jason Litner Went So Well (Videos & Before/After Pictures)
Rhinoplasty is something I have wanted since early childhood. In fact, I was only 10 years old when I first began hating the mountain in the middle of my face. I didn’t get bullied for it, I just simply, didn’t like it. I have rather small features on my face. Thin eyebrows, small lips, no prominent cheekbones...thus, this mound in the middle of my face took away from my other features, and I absolutely hated it.
By the time I was 22, that resentment hadn’t faded and I was ready to start researching the best plastic surgeons in my area. I went to three different consultations, at three different plastic surgery offices, to see what they could do. I ultimately decided to go with Dr. Peyman Solieman and Dr. Jason Litner, at Profiles, in Beverly Hills California. When I went in for my consultation, they made me feel comfortable, and talked through the procedure with me, in a way that made me feel very informed, without sounding condescending (like one of the other surgeons I met with). They took photos of me from different angles, and adjusted my nose with a photoshop tool on their computer. We then took a look at the simulations they had constructed, of what my nose could look like with their skills. I was in love. They planned to shave away the huge bump I had, and bring the tip of my nose up so the end wasn’t so long and masculine. They quoted the surgery at exactly 10,000 dollars. I know that sounds like a lot, but based on their level of expertise, and the before and after photos I saw on their website, I was confident that they could give me the nose I wanted. They also had a variety of payment plan options, which was great. I ended up just using my credit card to pay for it, and then paid off my credit card as soon as possible.
The procedure went smoothly. It was early in the morning, and they exceeded again at making me feel very comfortable and at ease. I’ve been under general anesthesia before, but if you haven’t ever been, and are curious about it, it’s nothing to be worried about in the slightest. You lay down on a bed, and they have you breathe in the anesthesia via a little mask that goes over your nose and mouth, and boom, you wake up and the surgery is done! It’s definitely nothing to be afraid of.
As for recovery, I personally had a lot of bruising and swelling (my skin is sensitive), but it went away within two weeks. Sleeping was the biggest challenge since you can’t breathe out of your nose for a solid week, and are supposed to keep your head elevated while you sleep. Inevitably, I didn’t end up sleeping much that week because I really hate having to breathe out of my mouth, as well as sleep propped up. Pain-wise, it wasn’t too bad. They give you pain meds to take home and you just take them as the doctor prescribes.
After about two weeks, I went in so they could take the “packing” out of my nose. I was really nervous for this because I thought it would hurt but it didn’t at all! The doctors then came in and inspected my nose, asked if I had any questions, chatted with me a bit about what to expect as far as when the swelling will go down (it usually takes a full year to go dissipate), and I was on my way! It really was an worry-free experience.
Overall, I am extremely happy with the results. I have so much more confidence than I used to, and I truly think my new nose fits my face so much better! It makes my other features stand out (like my eyes), instead of taking away from them like my old nose did. I have no regrets in regards to the experience and believe that if it’s something someone really wants to do, they should! It has made me so much happier and more comfortable in my skin, and I couldn’t be more grateful for it.
