Breast augmentation - Saline breast implants

Performed 2014

My name is Samantha Paparo, I'm 22 years old and I had breast augmentation surgery in December of 2014.

I was born very flat chested and felt self-conscious about the way I looked, so I went ahead and had a breast augmentation. This procedure was something I wanted to do for myself.

I had my surgery performed by Dr. Ted Eisenberg. I had an initial consult with him 6 months prior to surgery and two pre-op appointments before my procedure (3 months and 1 month). During my initial consultation, him and his team went over everything I needed to know and do before and after having surgery. They told me the medications I needed to purchase, supplements I needed to stop taking (e.g. fish oil) and told me to call them if I had any questions. Dr. Eisenberg also told me because of my active lifestyle, I would best benefit from saline implants placed under the chest muscles. The implants would be placed through a small incision site at the base of my breasts and the cost of my breast augmentation was going to be $6,400, which included everything.

My surgery was on December 19, 2014, at 7 in the morning. I arrived at the surgical center at that time, Dr. Eisenberg was there to greet me and the last thing I was remember was being wheeled into the operating room and receiving anesthesia.

When I woke up 3 hours later, the implants were in and I felt no pain. Dr. Eisenberg was there as soon as I opened my eyes and made sure I was okay. I couldn’t believe how smoothly things went and how good I felt for someone who just had surgery. I went food shopping with my mom that night and felt perfectly fine.

The issue I had struggled with the most post-surgery during my recovery time was getting up and down the stairs and lying back to go to sleep. I never took any pain medication, but that was the only point where I experienced discomfort and it only lasted a week. I come from a fitness background. I am an online trainer as my full-time job and being able to get right back to working out was a worry for me in the beginning. I obviously didn’t want to do any damage to my implants, but I was for sure itching to get back into the gym. I was back on the StairMaster doing cardio exactly one week post-surgery and it felt great.

By the second week of my recovery, I was only training my lower body and by the third week, I was training my upper body lightly and my lower body normally. I compete in bodybuilding shows and went through 3-4 weeks of recovery and then started prepping for my next body building show, which was during the last week of January 2015. A few months later, in March of 2015, I placed second in a body building show. Not bad, especially considering I had a surgical procedure around my pectoral muscles only 3 months prior.

Dr. Ted Eisenberg took really good care of me after my surgery. He called to check in with me to see if I was okay every few weeks. When I went in for my 3-month post-op appointment, everything seemed to look the way it was supposed to. My implants started to feel like my own natural breasts. It was like they had always been there and I didn't feel any discomfort.

I later had a 6 month and 1 year post-op appointment. By my 1 year post-op appointment, my breasts had completely dropped and I almost forgot I had surgery at that point. My final breast size ended up being between a B and C cup, depending on the brand of bra I buy.

My breast augmentation experience was a very positive one. I still train intensely and till this day, I have no complaints. If I had to do it all over again, I would. Dr. Eisenberg is an amazing doctor. He did my mom’s surgery 25 years ago and he’s still practicing now. He could definitely retire at this point, but the fact that he’s still performing surgeries, means he has mastered his craft and he truly loves what he does. He changed my life and I will always remain thankful to him. He wrote a book called ‘The Scoop on Breasts’ which was a NY Times best seller and I have referred him to many of my friends. They all had great experiences with him and I wouldn’t choose any another doctor.

When getting a breast augmentation, you want to be sure it is done correctly. If you go to someone who only does breast augmentations, you’re more likely to be in good hands because that is their only focus. I loved my experience and wouldn’t change a single thing about it.

I've included a video if you want to learn more about my experience having breast implant surgery.
