My name is Jasmine and around middle school I noticed that my breasts were growing rapidly. I noticed that my breasts were a little bigger than all of the other middle school girls and that’s when I started to feel a little uncomfortable. As I moved along in school, I began to embrace my top heaviness. At the time, I felt like breast reduction surgery was out of the question because of how scared surgery sounded to me. So I had to choice, but to live with my large breasts.

My breasts continued to grow as I got older and they remained the center of my attention, but for the wrong reasons. People always told me that they noticed my breasts before they noticed me. My breasts grew to be so heavy, it limited the types of physical activity I could do. I couldn't play sports and my breasts started to cause back and shoulder pain. I also couldn't wear certain types of clothing. I got engaged in 2015 and when I went to go try of wedding dresses, my breasts kept spilling over and none of the dresses I tried on fit or looked the way they should have. At that point, I knew I had to do have plastic surgery to correct my issue.

I schedule a consultation with Dr. Adil Kabeer, a plastic surgeon in Gainesville, FL, who came highly recommended by one of my friends. The moment my consultation ended, I knew Dr. Kabeer was the right doctor for me. Not only was he very friendly, but he was also reassuring and told me my insurance company would likely cover the procedure because of the size of my breasts. I decided to take a risk and booked my surgery, because I had read breast reduction reviews online and most people recovered pretty quickly. I felt I would be able to have my breast reduction and be fully recovered by the time of my wedding. Before leaving the doctor's office, I had to fill out some paperwork to get approved by my insurance and a week later I was approved and set for surgery, which was 1.5 weeks later.

My surgery day arrived and I was admittedly scared and very nervous. My surgery ended up lasting about 3.5 hours and then it was time for me to begin my breast reduction recovery journey.

For the next few weeks, I dealt with some minor complications, like a hematoma and excessive constipation, but Dr. Kabeer didn't hesitate to take care of me and put me back on a smooth road to recovery. Besides these issues, I didn't suffer any significant setbacks. My recovery went pretty smoothly overall.

My wedding day came on June 12, 2017, and I felt like a new person in my dress. Not only had I lost weight but the sweetheart neckline fit perfectly with my new breast size. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to have surgery. I was fearful, but the feeling of being a better me won out, and I would recommend any woman who is having similar issues with their breasts to follow through and make that big step. Dr. Kabeer also did an amazing job and I would recommend him too!
