Volbella Is The Best Lip Filler Out There and I've tried a Bunch!
I'm guessing you're reading this because you want to know if Volbella is a good lip filler? If so, you're certainly reading the right person's review! I have personally had many different types of lip fillers injected, including Restylane, Juvederm and Voluma. After much trial and error, I finally found a lip filler that looked great and lasted a long time.
The biggest problem I've always had with lip fillers, is that they either don't last long enough (e.g Juvederm) or they caused bumpiness on my lips (Restylane). Volbella seems to have fixed both of those issues for me and now that I've tried it, I will never go back to any of the other fillers. Volbella really does what it promises to do. Last May I received my Voluma lip injections and it is now September and I'm still going strong. I have not needed to get any more injections since then, which was wonderful. In all of my previous experiences with lip fillers, my injections only lasted around a month. The one disadvantage of Volbella is it's more expensive. I paid almost $700 for it (and it was worth every penny!).
Like every other filler treatment, Volbella is no different in the way it's injected. The treatment area is cleaned, you have the option of receiving numbing cream and then you're injected and sent on your way home. For me, the biggest difference with each dermal filler, is what happens once the product is injected. The two biggest issues I always have are: 1) The filler doesn't last more than a month 2) The filler isn't evenly distributed throughout my lips and creates a bumpiness. With the exception of Voluma (lasted 4 months) and Volbella, every other filler only has lasted around a month. The funny thing about this is Voluma and Volbella are both manufactured by Allergan and part of the 'Juvederm Family' of fillers. Why I react differently to them is anyone's guess.
It's now been more than a year and my lips still look great from Volbella! I have been told this is because Volbella uses Vycross Technology, which combines low and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid(HA) in a 90:10 ratio for longer lasting results (other fillers are 100% high molecular weight HA). Exactly how that works is a bit too advanced for me, but supposedly that's why Volbella last longer than other fillers.
Volbella is a little harder than other fillers. By 'harder,' I don't necessarily mean your lips feel harder, but they will feel a little bit more firm. The firmness softens as time goes on, but you won't want to do any kissing motions or straw drinking for about 4 days post-injection.
I also think my Volbella procedure hurt a bit less than other injections - or perhaps I am getting a bit too used to receiving lip injections. On a pain scale of 1-10, my Volbella injections were a 3. I certainly didn't feel as faint after my injections, like I did with my other lip augmentation procedures.
I also found that Volbella heals quickly. I felt like I could move my lips normally after 3-4 days and the only aftercare I needed, was some lip balm applied regularly for the first 2-3 days after my injections. This was not my experience with other fillers, especially Restylane, which took quite a while to heal from.
Moving forward, I will only be using Volbella for my lip enhancement. With Volbella, my lips stay the same size throughout the entire day, unlike my experience with Voluma, where my lips were larger when I woke up and got gradually smaller as the day progressed. And like I said, your lips will firmer post-injection and the cost of Volbella is more expensive, but it's so worth it!
