What do I need to do After Getting a Mommy Makeover?

Tags:pain pain medication

Are there any special medications I will need to take after a mommy makeover? I’m not a big fan of meds. I usually bear the pain and skip the meds. I have a feeling this won't be the case for a procedure of this magnitude though. Should my husband prepare to take some days off to take care of me? How bad do you usually feel after a mommy makeover? Will I need to spend a few days in the hospital? I literally have no idea what to expect afterwards. I would really appreciate your help with this.

After getting a Mommy Makeover you will likely have drains and be required to wear a compression garment during the first week to week and a half after breast lift and tummy tuck--while uncomfortable (and kind of scary looking!) they do not hurt, though you will have to limit your movement and activity during those days. You will have to have someone cook for you, help you bathe, etc. So if grandparents or your spouse can take time off to run the house/take care of kids, this would be ideal.

As far as pain, this will vary for each individual, but obviously there will be pain associated with the surgery and you will be prescribed painkillers for after surgery. The pain should not be in any way intolerable, so don't be scared. If everything goes well, you should be able to go home the same day after surgery in most cases.
