Does a neck lift work for crepey skin?

I just turned 40 and didn't expect to be dealing with this so soon, but I have very crepey skin on my neck. I've thought about getting lasers or thermage done but I kind of want to just do one major procedure now so I don't have to worry about it anymore. Is a neck lift effective on crepey skin? Please give me your input, I look like an old lady!

A neck lift absolutely gets rid of crepey skin! I have had a neck lift myself, and though wrinkly skin was not my main reason for having the procedure done, I certainly had crepey skin and other smaller early signs of aging but the surgery made it all disappear.

My mother also had a neck lift when she was in her 60's and it made her look 10-15 years younger. She suffered from crepey skin, as well, but now her neck is toned and the skin around her jaws is no longer saggy or wrinkly. I highly recommend having the procedure done if you suffer from that type of skin. The surgery will definitely give you a confidence boost. I nor my mother regret it the slightest bit. If you decide to speak to a plastic surgeon, they are quite helpful and will lay out all of your treatment options and the pros and cons of each.

I had the same exact problem as you. I absolutely hated the crepey skin that was on my neck, it really made me look so much older than I was. It was the main reason I decided to have a neck lift when I did. I think it is a good idea to get it done early. Why wait until later when you can start looking younger now, right? I know a lot of people like to get this type of thing done when they are older and have loose neck skin or a double chin, but I say that there is no time like the present. After I had the surgery it really improved how my neck looked. It got rid of the crepey skin and tightened up my neck and around my jowls. I was honestly surprised at how well the procedure worked on me. If I were you I would try a neck lift before any other type of plastic surgery. I’m so very happy that I took the plunge and went for it when I did.

I also started getting crepey skin a few years ago now and when I talked to my doctor, she said that plastic surgery would not really help me because it isn’t really an issue of too much or saggy skin. Instead, it’s an issue with the actual texture of the skin. I didn't have any loose skin really but she said I could try getting a neck lift done because it would help my skin look better. She didn’t think the effects would last longer than a year anyways so I chose to double down on my skin care regimen. I eventually got a Thermage treatment done to help with collagen production and tighten the skin around my neck. I’ve also gotten chemical peels done a few times a year to help the texture of my skin. I’ve noticed that my skin looks a lot healthier and brighter after the peels which I found helps with my overall appearance as well. I am very happy with the results that I have been able to achieve, so don't let anyone tell you that neck lift surgery or any cosmetic surgery is the be all end all of self-care. There are so many options out there to help you achieve your beauty goals, cosmetic surgery is a great option but far from the only one. Definitely talk to a board-certified cosmetic surgeon if you can, but I don’t think a neck lift will work for crepey skin, at least based on my research and talking to my own doctor.
