How painful is a neck lift?

I want to have a neck lift done but I don't have a high pain tolerance and I'm worried that the procedure will be really painful. Is a neck lift really painful to get?

Its a surgical procedure, so its not a walk in the park but getting rid of my excess fat and neck skin was more than worth it. In my opinion, a neck lift procedure is not as painful as it may seem. Plastic surgeons take all of the precautions available to minimize pain during cosmetic procedures because they know that people like us worry. I had liposuction combined with a neck lift and the discomfort only lasted between 3-4 days.

I also questioned whether I would be able to handle the pain because I do not have a high pain tolerance. I asked people and received different answers. Some said it was painful, others said not. It really depends on the person and how quick their normal healing process is. I believe the swelling and tightness was more uncomfortable than the little bit of pain I felt. I can definitely say this; the benefits outweigh the temporary discomfort.

I wouldn’t worry about it if I were you! For pretty much all plastic surgery, the benefits you will get from the procedure are going to make you so much happier that any kind of pain you feel won’t be a problem in the long run. You're under general anesthesia during the procedure, so its only really the recovery that you need to worry about.

The pain I had from my neck lift surgery was very mild. My recovery period was just about the full two weeks and yes, I did have pain and discomfort while I was laid up for that time. I think it took me a little longer to get back to my normal activities - maybe about 10 days after I came home. But most of the pain is more like numbness and swelling. It was annoying, but not too bad. You could probably also speak with your cosmetic surgeon about taking over the counter anti-inflammatory drugs to help even more. I was honestly surprised at how good I felt, I thought it'd be much worse. It felt a little bit tight, but that was really all that bothered me. I’d say go for it!

My neck lift didn't really cause me a lot of pain, but my doctor did give me pain medication to manage any discomfort I had. The total recovery time for me was about two weeks but most of the pain and swelling was gone after around five days. The biggest issue I experienced with my neck lift was general discomfort and swelling around the cut sites. For the first three days I didn’t particularly want to do much because of the swelling and I spent those days at home. My neck was also a little bit tight, kind of like I was wearing a turtleneck or something, but that went away quickly. Overall I would say the pain itself was mild and it was definitely worth it. I didn't have any particularly noticeable side effects, and less than a month after the procedure it was all behind me anyways. I love the result of my neck lift and think it was good investment. The results have lasted a long time and I have gotten a lot of compliments from friends and family.
